I started out with a piece of Alder from www.warmoth.com. I then bought some quilted Maple on Ebay for a resonable price. I think a payed around $30 for this bookmatched set from Fraser Valley Hardwoods. I don 't have deep clamps so I chose the pickups pockets, Control Plate, and outer edges of the Guitar for screw holes since this area gets routed out anyways, to glue down the Quilted Top onto the Alder as the glue dried
