Joe Schroeder-Drums and Vocals
Personal Information - Born the youngest of seven on August 2nd, 1971, in Boscobel Wisconsin. Joe
was raised in Prairie du Chien Wisconsin, and graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1990.
After high school he enlisted in The United States Marine Corps as a Percussionist in The Marine Corps
Band from 1990 - 1994. Upon his arrival back to civilization, Tim and Greg convinced him that country
music really was cool after all, and asked him to join the "Back Home Boys". Joe graduated from Upper
Iowa University in 2000, with a Bachelors Degree in Human Services. He has worked at 3M for Aramark
Facility Services for the past 10 years and is currently the Facility Services Manager. Joe is married to
Heather and they have a lovely daugther Allyson, 3 years old.
Influences - Joe had several local musicians influence his musicianship, like Jay and the rest of the
Andersons, the "Jammer" Daryl Buffington, "The Noyz Boys" Eric Lee Olson and Scott Bartholomew,
"Captain" Trevor O?Kane, and of course his high school band director Tom Cook who showed Joe the
two key things needed to be a good musician, "lots of practice and discipline". Some of Joes more
famous influences were Tommy Lee, Dave Wekyl, Steve Gadd, Louie Bellson, and Buddy Rich.
Equipment Used - Joe uses a six piece DW custom kit with Zildjian cymbals, Evens hydraulic heads,
and an Iron Cobra cheater peddle combined with an Alesis DM-5 Drum Module, Audio-Technica
Microphones, Shure E5 in ear monitors and a throne shaker.
Hobbies - Joe says that he doesn't have time for hobbies.
Pet Peeves - Joe doesn't know why, but he really hates it when people underestimate height
challenged people and he also hates it when people use politically correct terms.
What he likes most about being in the Band - "We get to express our love for music and give our fans a
chance to escape from the pressures of this crazy world for a little while".
