Personal Information - Born in Manchester, IA on April 5th, 1979, Charlie is the youngest member of the
group. While being the youngest, he still has many years of experience as a musician. Charlie started
playing guitar at the age of 11 and joined his first band at 13. Through the years, he has played in various
groups, but spent 13 years in his dad’s band the “Western Kings” where he was lead guitarist and lead
vocalist. Joining the Back Home Boys in late fall of 2004, Charlie began playing the bass guitar.
After high school, Charlie attended North East Iowa Community College in Calmar, IA where he majored in
Industrial Electricity. He currently resides in Earlville, IA and works full time as a licensed electrician.
Influences - His Dad, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard.
Hobbies - Charlie enjoys exercising, playing basketball, and performing music for rowdy crowds.
Equipment - Charlie uses a Lakeland Skyline 55-02 bass, a Shure SLX wireless system, a Shure Beta 87C mic,
Shure PSM 400 in-ear monitor with E5 drivers, a Gallien Kruger 700RB amp head, a DBX 166XL Compressor,
and a Korg DTR-200 rack mount tuner.
Pet Peeves - “I hate it when someone says it can’t be done. If you can think it, you can do it! So git ‘er
done!”
What he likes most about playing with the BHB's - “What I like most is being able to do what I love with
with guys this great. We’re all good friends and never seem to get tired of each other. No matter how
long we’re crammed into a cab of a truck for. I think the key to having a long lasting, and successful band
are members you put together. I think the Back Home Boys are the perfect gathering of guys and
personalities of s whom by chance play instruments. Every weekend is an adventure!”
